Find your way
Get your bearings, then choose your next connection.
Read the board before choosing a level.
The railway station and bus terminal form one Travel Centre, but trains, local buses and coaches still use distinct platforms, stops and bays. Use the signed underpass and lifts for rail platforms and verify the boarding area from the operator.
Station hall
The waiting room, VR machine and toilets are here. There is no staffed VR point and no luggage storage, so solve ticket or bag needs before leaving the hall.
Rail platforms
Follow the live board and signs rather than a remembered platform. VR reports a lift renovation from 28 September to 18 October 2026; confirm the current accessible route before travelling.
Bus terminal
LSL and coach services use designated stops or bays around the Travel Centre. Match the stop name, direction and departure time; “Lahti station” alone is not a boarding instruction.
Trains
Lahti combines commuter and long-distance trains. Check the live board for the actual date, platform, disruption and replacement-bus information.
Find a trainLocal buses
Use LSL’s planner for the current stop, direction and ticket. The regional zone system was removed in June 2026, so do not rely on older zone advice.
Plan with LSLLong-distance coaches
Check the operator and bay on your ticket. Rail and coach departures are close, but finding the correct level and bay still requires transfer time.
Coach informationHelsinki Airport
Rail journeys normally require a change at Tikkurila; direct coach options vary. Search for your actual departure time and retain a safe check-in margin.

Toilets & waitingHall open daily 05:00–23:15

Buy or manage train tickets through VR’s current channels. For a complex issue, arrange support before arrival rather than expecting a staffed counter.

The assistance point is outside the station building on the city side. Book assistance with VR in advance and check the temporary lift renovation notice before choosing your route.
Accessible travel · VRCoffee & a pauseStation and city centre
For a short change, stay within the Travel Centre. With more time, the Market Square and central services are a straightforward walk, but check the return route first.
Parking & bicyclesTemporary arrangements during construction
City development has changed some park-and-ride arrangements. Use the city’s current parking information rather than an old station map.

A short stop
Use the station services and walk only toward the centre or Market Square. Without lockers, keep luggage and the return route central to the plan.
A few hours
Choose Malva and the centre, or Salpausselkä and its museums. Do not combine distant clusters unless the available time includes local transport and the return.
A day in Lahti
Combine one museum with Salpausselkä or continue to the Vesijärvi harbour and Sibelius Hall. Seasonal cruises and venue access require separate checks.
