Lahti: from the Travel Centre to the lake
Plan a Lahti day from its Travel Centre to Malva, Salpausselkä and the Vesijärvi harbour, with current accessibility guidance.

Begin at the Travel Centre
Lahti’s railway station, local buses and coaches form one Travel Centre, but they do not share one boarding point. Match the train platform or named bus bay to the actual departure. Start with live Lahti departures.
Read the current access notice
VR lists raised platforms, accessible entry to low-floor trains and a booked assistance point on the city side. The station lift is scheduled to be out of service from 28 September to 18 October 2026. Check the current notice before travel if the lift affects your route and book assistance at least 24 hours ahead.
Know what the station provides
The waiting room is listed open daily 05:00–23:15. There is a toilet and ticket machine, but no luggage lockers or staffed VR point. The KeyBoy unit is for keys, not general baggage storage.
Choose one clear city line
For a compact culture day, walk from the centre to Malva and the market square. For sport, use the Salpausselkä Sports Centre and confirm whether the ski-jump viewing deck or museum is open. These are different visits, not checklist items that must all fit.
Continue deliberately to Vesijärvi
Lahti harbour brings together Sibelius Hall, modern wood architecture, restaurants and lake views. Cruises are seasonal and individual venues keep their own hours. The harbour is beyond the immediate station area, so leave enough time for the return.
What’s on in Lahti
Use Visit Lahti’s official event calendar for current sport, concerts and exhibitions. Confirm the exact venue: regional listings can be outside Lahti city and may need a separate connection.
Sources and currency
Station, lift and accessibility information comes from VR. City, harbour, culture and event guidance comes from official City of Lahti, Visit Lahti, LSL and Lahti City Museums sources, checked 5 October 2026. Live boards and operator planners decide the journey.
