  • Name the destination

No “Raseborg station” · Use Karis, Ekenäs or Fiskars

Raseborg covers a wide municipality. Search and ticket systems need the actual place name. Karjaa is the interchange; Ekenäs has its own station, while Fiskars and other villages need onward transport.

  • Accessible junction

Lift to track 3 · Unsheltered assistance point

VR lists raised platforms and step-free access to low-floor trains. Track 3 is reached by lift through the tunnel. The unsheltered assistance point is beside track 2 at the Helsinki end of the station building; a car can approach it. Book at least 24 hours ahead.

Step into the city

A short pause or a whole day. Choose a visit that fits your journey.

  • A short connection

    30–60 minutes

Keep the plan close and simple: Karis centre and Pumpviken. Leave a clear margin for the platform.

  • A few hours

    One focused city visit

Choose one main destination, such as Billnäs and Fiskars, and check its opening hours before leaving the station.

  • A full day

    City first · Region second

Add Ekenäs and the coast only after confirming the complete outward and return journey.

Places to start with

  • Karis centre and Pumpviken

The simple local visit · Park and architecture

Karis is a small bilingual town rather than a collection of headline attractions. Pumpviken, the centre and Hilding Ekelund’s architecture provide a calm station-based visit; St Catherine’s medieval church sits beyond the immediate centre.

  • Billnäs and Fiskars

Separate villages · Check current bus and opening hours

Billnäs is about 2.5 kilometres from Karis and Fiskars about 13 kilometres. Their ironworks landscapes, design, food and exhibitions have independent opening hours. Confirm the boarding stop and return; do not merge the villages into one station walk.

    Plan the onward journey
  • Ekenäs and the coast

Use Ekenäs station · About 18 km from Karis

Ekenäs has its own rail arrival for the old town and coast. Choose that station when Ekenäs is the destination; use Karis only when the timetable or onward connection genuinely requires the interchange.
