Karjaa: the junction into Raseborg
Use Karjaa as Raseborg’s bilingual rail junction, then plan separate connections to Karis, Ekenäs, Billnäs or Fiskars.

Raseborg is not a station name
Karjaa—Karis in Swedish—is the practical railway junction for a geographically wide bilingual municipality. Search systems need the real place name: Karis, Ekenäs, Fiskars or another village. Start with live Karjaa departures and choose the destination before the connection.

VR lists raised platforms and step-free access to low-floor trains. Track 3 is reached by lift through the tunnel. The unsheltered assistance point is beside track 2 at the Helsinki end of the station building, and a car can approach it; book at least 24 hours ahead. The station has a ticket machine but no toilet, luggage lockers or staffed VR service point.
Keep the Karis visit local
Pumpviken, the centre and Hilding Ekelund’s architecture make a calm station-based visit. St Catherine’s medieval church lies beyond the immediate centre. Karis is useful precisely because it is a compact town and interchange, not because every Raseborg attraction sits beside it.
Separate the ironworks villages
Billnäs is about 2.5 kilometres from Karis and Fiskars about 13 kilometres. Their workshops, exhibitions, restaurants and shops keep independent and often seasonal hours. Verify the Bosse bus stop and return rather than joining the villages into one station walk.
Use Ekenäs station for Ekenäs
Ekenäs has its own train arrival for the old town and coast, about 18 kilometres from Karis. Choose that station when Ekenäs is the destination. Use Karis only when the actual timetable or onward connection requires the junction.
What’s on in Raseborg
The Dark Weekend runs 23–25 October 2026 across Raseborg and Hanko. It is a distributed programme, not one venue: select the exact event and town before planning the train and return.
Sources and currency
Station and accessibility facts come from VR. Place names, distances, local transport, access and event details come from official Visit Raseborg and Bosse sources, checked 5 October 2026. Live boards and operator planners decide the current journey.
