Find your way

Get your bearings, then choose your next connection.

Treat the Travel Centre as three boarding systems.

Trains, long-distance coaches and local Linkki buses connect here, but their boarding points are not interchangeable. Read the live board or ticket first, then follow the correct signs.

  • Railway hall

Hannikaisenkatu 20 · Waiting and ticket machine

The hall has a VR ticket machine and toilets but no staffed VR point. Its opening hours are not overnight access.

  • Rail platforms

Platform 1 and lift to middle platforms

Use the departure board for the current platform. The booked-assistance point is sheltered at the Tampere end of platform 1.

  • Coach and local-bus stops

Travel Centre bays · Linkki stops around the centre

Coaches use the Travel Centre bus area. Linkki services can use other nearby stops, so match the stop name and direction in the journey planner.

  • Trains

Tampere, Pieksämäki, Kuopio and Helsinki connections

Jyväskylä is a Central Finland rail junction. Use the live board for the actual platform, delay and replacement-bus information.

  • Local buses

Linkki · Stops and fare zones vary

Plan by destination and time. A general “Travel Centre” label does not prove that a local bus leaves beside the rail platforms.

  • Long-distance coaches

Check the operator, bay and departure time on your ticket. Leave transfer time even though rail and coach areas adjoin.

Step into Jyväskylä

A short pause or a whole day. Choose a visit that fits your journey.

  • A short stop

    Travel Centre and pedestrian centre

Keep the station, luggage and next departure central to the plan. The centre is close, but crossing the tracks and finding the platform still takes time.

  • A few hours

    Choose museums or harbour

Walk to the Craft Museum and centre, or choose Lutakko harbour and Aalto2. Avoid combining distant places simply because they share a city label.

  • A day in Jyväskylä

    Architecture, lakes and sauna culture

Build one coherent route through Aalto architecture, the harbour or Harju. Regional nature and Säynätsalo require separate transport planning.
