Pori: two hubs, river and coast
Understand Pori Travel Centre and Market Square, then choose a coherent river-city visit or a separately planned trip to Yyteri.

Understand the two transport hubs
Pori Travel Centre serves trains, coaches and selected local buses. Most local routes meet at the Market Square, Antinkatu 10. Start with live Pori departures, then make the transfer explicit instead of assuming every city bus leaves from the station forecourt.
Move between station and centre
City line 1 links the Travel Centre and Market Square. Walking can also be practical, but luggage, weather and time should decide. At either hub, match the operator, line, bay and direction before boarding.
Use the station opening hours
VR lists a waiting room and toilet during the station building's published hours. Plan very early or late arrivals accordingly, book assistance in advance and check the current meeting instructions for your train.
Build a river-city visit
The Market Square, central services, Kokemäenjoki river and Kirjurinluoto can form one coherent urban visit. Kirjurinluoto is also an event area, so large dates may introduce temporary access and transport arrangements.
Keep Yyteri as a coastal journey
Yyteri is a separate bus trip, not part of the station-centre walk. Verify the current or seasonal route, the exact stop and the last return before committing. A river-and-centre day in Pori stands on its own without adding the coast.
What’s on in Pori
Use Visit Pori's calendar for current culture, sport and events. Confirm the exact venue and special traffic: an event at Kirjurinluoto, Yyteri or elsewhere on the coast creates a different journey from one in the centre.
Sources and currency
Station and accessibility facts come from VR. Local transport, city, Kirjurinluoto, Yyteri and event guidance comes from official Pori public transport, Visit Pori and Visit Yyteri sources, checked 4 October 2026.
