Hyvinkää and the Finnish Railway Museum
Travel to Hyvinkää by train, walk to the Finnish Railway Museum and plan the station, museum and city visit clearly.

Begin at the working station
Hyvinkää is on the Helsinki–Tampere main line. R and T commuter trains serve it, but the actual service and platform can change, so check live Hyvinkää departures before leaving the waiting room.
Read before you go
The waiting room is open Monday–Friday 06:00–17:00 and Saturday 07:00–16:00. VR lists raised platforms, step-free access to low-floor trains, a toilet and ticket machine. The assistance point is beside the station building at the bicycle parking; book at least 24 hours ahead. There are no luggage lockers or staffed VR service point.
Walk to Finland’s railway collection
The Finnish Railway Museum gives the city its clearest visitor route: follow the signs for about ten minutes from the present station. The museum occupies the former Hyvinkää–Hanko railway station and grounds, with locomotives, rolling stock, a roundhouse and an 1873 station building. Opening days change by season. The halls can be cold in winter, and although the main halls have barrier-free access, some exhibition buildings have stairs.
Do not confuse two kinds of storage
The museum lists lockers for its visitors in the entrance hall. These are not station luggage lockers and should not be assumed available outside a museum visit or its opening hours.
Add one compact extension
Museokeskus Taika combines Hyvinkää’s art and city museums near the centre. The old wool-factory surroundings and library form a coherent central walk. Sveitsi, by contrast, is a separate forest, hotel and activity area that needs a current local-bus plan in both directions.

Use the museum’s own programme for railway events and Hyvinkää’s event calendar for the wider city. Match every event to its exact venue, opening time and return journey.
